Description

This stoneware serving platter takes the shape of a single leaf, with a short stem at one end, raised veins fanning out from a centre line and a softly waved edge. The glaze is deepest blue along the middle and lightens towards the ribbed rim, flecked all over with fine speckles, so the surface has real depth up close. At 31cm long, 19.5cm wide and 4cm tall it is long enough for a proper spread yet narrow enough to sit down the middle of a table, and the gently raised edge keeps things from sliding off.

It is made for serving food, so it earns its place at mealtimes: grilled asparagus, cheese and charcuterie, sliced fruit or crackers beside a dip. Its length suits a sharing dish passed along a dining table or set out on a kitchen island when friends come round.
