The Delmar is a 500mm square flush ceiling light combining a frosted glass panel with clear glass edging, a central cluster of Asfour crystal spheres, and a polished chrome mounting plate. The frosted glass diffuses light across the 500mm width while the clear perimeter allows brighter light to pass through the edges, creating layered ambient illumination. Six G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately) sit behind the glass and crystal, with the chrome backplate reflecting light through the crystal spheres to amplify their sparkle.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m where a pendant drop would sit too low, the 150mm projection from ceiling to glass base makes the Delmar suitable for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways where a flush-mount fitting is required. The square format works well over rectangular dining tables and in square or near-square rooms where the geometry mirrors the space. The combined glass and crystal construction gives the fitting a 6.3kg weight, requiring secure fixing to a ceiling joist or noggin rather than plasterboard alone.

The polished chrome finish pairs with contemporary, modern and transitional interiors that use cooler metal tones — brushed nickel, stainless steel, grey and white colour schemes. The crystal spheres are Asfour-cut, meaning they're precision-cut lead-free crystal rather than moulded glass or acrylic, so they refract light into clear spectral colours rather than producing a cloudy diffusion. The frosted glass softens the overall brightness, preventing harsh glare while the clear glass border and crystal cluster add definition and visual interest when the light is on or off.

Is the Delmar dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable G9 bulbs and pair the fitting with a compatible dimmer switch rated for LED or halogen loads depending on your bulb choice. The fitting itself is dimmer-compatible but dimming performance depends on the bulbs installed.

What bulbs does it take?

The Delmar takes six G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each (sold separately). Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs between 2.5W and 5W in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient living room or dining room lighting.

Can it be fitted to plasterboard ceilings?

At 6.3kg the Delmar requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or noggin. Plasterboard alone will not support this weight safely. If your ceiling rose is not positioned over a joist, install a spreader plate or noggin between joists before fitting.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 150mm projection from ceiling to glass base works best in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m. Lower ceilings can still accommodate the Delmar but the fitting will be more visually dominant in the space.
