Description
The Delmar is a 390mm flush ceiling light built around a central cluster of Asfour crystal spheres set into an antique brass mounting plate, surrounded by a two-layer glass diffuser with a frosted centre and clear outer rim. Four G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit behind the brass plate, lighting the crystals from behind and casting their reflections across the frosted glass.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above where a pendant drop would be impractical, the 150mm height allows the fitting to work in hallways, bedrooms, and sitting rooms where headroom matters. The flush mount sits directly against the ceiling rose, eliminating the projection of a semi-flush or pendant. The frosted glass softens the light spread while the clear outer rim remains transparent when lit, giving the fitting a defined edge rather than a glowing blob effect.
The antique brass finish shows a darker, slightly aged tone compared to polished or brushed brass, pairing well with warm wood tones, terracotta, ochre and olive interiors. The Asfour crystal spheres are cut from leaded crystal, giving sharper light refraction than acrylic or glass alternatives. The combined glass, crystal and brass construction brings the fitting to 3.5kg, requiring a secure ceiling rose mounting rather than plasterboard-only fixings.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Delmar takes four G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs between 2.5-4W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting. Dimmable bulbs are required if you plan to use a dimmer switch.
Is it suitable for low ceilings?
Yes. The 150mm height is compact enough for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above without creating headroom issues. The flush mounting sits directly against the ceiling rose, making it suitable for hallways, bedrooms, and living rooms where a pendant would hang too low.
What mounting does it require?
The 3.5kg weight requires a secure ceiling rose mounting fixed to a ceiling joist or noggin. It cannot be mounted into plasterboard alone without additional support. The fitting includes the necessary mounting hardware for standard UK ceiling roses.
How is the glass cleaned?
Switch off the mains and allow the fitting to cool. Remove the glass diffuser by unclipping or unscrewing it from the brass base (refer to the fitting instructions for the specific mechanism). Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth and glass cleaner. The crystal spheres can be wiped gently with a damp cloth if dusty.
