Description
The Daphne is a 6-light chandelier built around a central matt black hub that extends six angled arms in a radial configuration, each arm terminating in a conical shade with a brass-toned rope-textured interior. Each shade houses a single E14 bulb (sold separately, maximum 40W per socket), with the light reflecting off the brass interior to cast warm, directed illumination downward and outward.
Designed for open-plan dining rooms, living areas and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the chandelier spans 953mm in diameter and requires clearance around the perimeter to avoid arms clashing with nearby walls or furniture. The adjustable drop from 533mm to 1625mm allows the fitting to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or lowered further in double-height spaces. The minimal ceiling rose fixes to a standard UK ceiling plate and conceals the cable run.
The matt black exterior finish on the arms and hub absorbs light rather than reflecting it, creating a graphic silhouette against lighter ceilings. The brass rope-textured interior adds tactile detail and reflects a warmer tone than smooth polished brass, softening the otherwise sharp geometric lines. The radial arm configuration means the chandelier presents differently depending on viewing angle — from directly below it reads as a symmetrical star pattern, while from the side the layered arms create depth and visual movement. The 406mm fitting height from hub to uppermost point gives the chandelier physical presence without overwhelming typical domestic ceiling heights.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Daphne takes six E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, maximum 40W per socket. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining light.
What room size does it suit?
The 953mm diameter suits dining tables 1800-2400mm long, open-plan kitchen-diners from 20m² upward, and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.7m or more. In smaller rooms the arms may dominate; measure the clearance before ordering.
Can the drop be adjusted after installation?
The drop is set during installation by cutting the cable and chain to length. Once installed, the height is fixed unless the fitting is taken down and re-wired. Set the drop based on your ceiling height and the intended hanging position above the table or floor.
Is the brass interior a solid finish or textured?
The brass interior has a rope-textured surface that adds tactile detail and diffuses reflections compared to smooth polished brass. This texture is visible when looking up into the shades and softens the light quality reflected downward.
