The Dalla DTL-W (DTL) is a recessed LED spotlight that drops into the ceiling to give a clean, directional point of light. It takes a single MR16/PAR16 lamp through a Gx5.3 or GU10 cap, drawing up to 10W, and runs on 12V AC, 12V DC or 220-240V AC depending on the lamp fitted. Sold as an unlit spotlight fitting, it pairs with the GU10 or MR16 lamp of your choice, so the beam angle and brightness follow whichever lamp you select. In US terms this is a recessed can light, here in a compact square trim rather than the usual round aperture.

Its square 82 by 82 mm face suits kitchens, hallways, living rooms and home offices where a tidy grid of fittings is wanted, and the small footprint lets several sit close together for an even wash across a worktop or feature wall. Because the output depends on the lamp chosen, coverage is best judged by the lamp's beam: a narrower beam gives a tighter accent on artwork or a shelf, while a wider beam spreads light for general task areas. Plan fitting spacing around the lamp beam rather than a fixed lux figure. For ceilings of standard domestic height a run of these gives controllable, layered light.

The frame is aluminium alloy in a white finish, weighing 64 g, with an overall depth of 21 mm behind the ceiling line. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only and should be kept clear of bathrooms, porches and any damp or outdoor location. The fitting is recessed mount in the ceiling, dropping into a square cut-out and held in place behind the plasterboard. What beam angle does it give?

The beam is set by the lamp you fit rather than the housing, so it can be tailored to the job. A narrow beam works well for accenting artwork or a shelf, while a wider beam spreads light for general or task areas.

How do I clean the spotlight?

Switch it off and let the lamp cool, then wipe the white aluminium frame with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners so the finish stays unmarked, and never spray liquid directly into the fitting.
