The Dakota is a 670mm flush ceiling light with a black outer acrylic band, an opal white diffuser and polished chrome mounting clips. Four E27 bulb sockets sit behind the opal acrylic, which diffuses light evenly across the 670mm diameter to provide ambient ceiling illumination without glare or visible bulb filaments.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and open-plan spaces where ceiling height is limited or a low-profile fitting is required, the Dakota sits 175mm from the ceiling — shallow enough for rooms with 2.3m ceilings or lower while still providing the light output of four 60W-equivalent bulbs. The flush mounting fits a standard UK ceiling rose and the opal diffuser conceals the wiring and bulb arrangement behind a single white surface.

The black outer band provides a defined edge around the white centre, giving the fitting a graphic presence on the ceiling without the need for decorative detailing or hanging elements. The polished chrome mounting clips at the four cardinal points secure the diffuser to the backplate and reflect a small amount of light back into the room. At 7.5kg the fitting requires a secure ceiling fixing, but the weight sits flat against the ceiling rather than suspended, so no additional structural support is needed beyond the standard ceiling rose and joist position.

The Dakota accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W per socket, giving a maximum combined output of 240W if four 60W bulbs are used. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs chosen — LED bulbs marked as dimmable work with compatible LED dimmers, while incandescent and halogen bulbs work with standard resistive dimmers.

What bulbs does it take?

The Dakota takes four E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for general ambient lighting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 175mm projection from the ceiling makes the Dakota suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above. The flush mounting keeps the fitting close to the ceiling, avoiding head clearance issues that would occur with pendant or semi-flush designs.

Is the Dakota dimmable?

Yes, but dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you choose. If using dimmable LED bulbs, you need an LED-compatible dimmer. Standard incandescent or halogen bulbs work with traditional resistive dimmers.

How is the diffuser secured?

The opal white diffuser is held in place by four polished chrome clips visible at the cardinal points around the fitting. The clips allow the diffuser to be removed for bulb changes and cleaning, then re-clipped without tools.
