Description

Small square crystals run right around the perimeter of this rim, catching the light from the lamp behind them and putting a bit of sparkle on the ceiling. The face is polished chrome and the crystal is clear, and the whole square measures 90mm across, so it reads more like a small piece of jewellery than a light fitting. This is the decorative rim on its own: the lampholder and retaining ring come as a separate component kit, and we would put the two in the same order so nothing holds you up. It is sized for a 62mm cut-out.

We reach for rims like this where plain white bezels would look too plain for the room, and where the ceiling is already close enough for the detail to be seen and appreciated. Dining rooms, hallways, landings and dressing areas all suit it, as does a run of several across a low ceiling. Keep it to dry indoor rooms, away from shower zones, steam and anything covered but open to the weather. Dimming is possible if you fit dimmable lamps, though no dimmer comes with it.

The crystals are select cut glass, faceted on the visible faces and held in the polished metal rim, which is why the piece stays light in the hand. For care, switch off at the wall, give the lamp a moment, then dust the crystals with a soft dry brush and lift fingermarks from the chrome with a barely damp cloth and a dry buff after. It carries a one year warranty. If the squares are not quite your thing, we also stock chamfered square and round rims and rounded bubble versions in this range, and the matching component kits come in polished chrome, aged brass and satin black.
