Description

Clear crystal, cut as a deep square rim, is what you get here. The facets sit proud of the ceiling line and catch the light from the lamp behind them, so a plain white ceiling gains a small point of sparkle rather than a flat circle of trim. At 90mm square it reads as neat rather than showy, and the square edge lines up well with square tiles, joinery and door heads. It is a rim only piece, so the lampholder and retaining ring come from the matching component kit, which we stock in satin black, aged brass and polished chrome.

We reach for these where downlights are on show and a plain white bezel would look too plain: hallways and landings, dressing rooms, over a run of shelving, or in a dining room where a little glitter off the crystal is welcome. It is a fitting for dry rooms indoors, so keep it away from shower areas and anywhere it would meet steam or splashing. The lamp is chosen separately, and if you want the light on a dimmer you will need a dimmable lamp to suit; the crystal itself puts no limit on that.

The crystal is a select grade, clear all the way through, and it is the cut rather than any plating that does the work, so there is no coating to wear thin. Dust settles in the facets over time; a soft brush lifts it out, and a wipe with a barely damp cloth once the lamp is cold brings the shine back. It carries a one year warranty. The same 62mm cut-out runs through the range, so this square rim can swap for the round chamfered and bubble shapes, or for the aqua, green, smoked and spectrum crystal versions. Lamps are not included.
