Description

A ring of clear crystal, cut into a cluster of small facets and set in a polished chrome surround, this is the decorative face of a recessed light rather than its working parts. The visible rim measures 100mm across and sits over a 62mm cut-out. The lampholder and retaining ring come as a separate component kit, which completes it as a working fitting, and we stock that kit in polished chrome to match, as well as French gold, aged brass and satin black.

Cut crystal takes whatever light passes through it and throws small bright points back into the room, which is why these suit ceilings people actually look at: a hallway, a landing, a dressing room, the ceiling above a bed. They are a quiet way to lift a run of plain white rims without altering anything else in a scheme. Keep them to dry rooms indoors, away from shower zones and anywhere steam gathers. Dimming is possible provided the lamp you choose is a dimmable one.

The crystal is clear throughout, cut to a select grade, and the metalwork is polished to a bright mirror chrome so the two read as one piece once lit. Dust settles on facets faster than it does on a plain rim, so a soft brush every few weeks keeps the sparkle, and marks on the chrome lift with a barely damp cloth followed by an immediate dry. It carries a one year warranty. The round cluster rim is also offered in French gold with clear crystal and in clear with smoked crystal, and the same cut-out takes the bubble and chamfered rims if you want a softer or squarer face. Lamps are not included.

No. It is the crystal rim only. The lampholder and retaining ring are supplied as a separate component kit (IL30800), which we stock in polished chrome, French gold, aged brass and satin black.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided the lamp fitted is a dimmable type and it is paired with a suitable dimmer. No dimmer is supplied.
