Description

The Cotswold Lane is a 544mm outdoor pedestal lantern from Feiss with a two-light configuration housed behind clear bevelled glass panels in a black die-cast aluminium frame. The design references antique gas lanterns with fluted detailing on the pagoda-style roof and ribbed moulding at the base and collar. Two E14 bulbs (sold separately, up to 60W each) sit inside a vertical glazed cage built from individual bevelled glass panes.

Designed for installation on gate posts, entrance pillars, driveway plinths and garden walls, the pedestal fitting mounts onto a flat surface via a square base plate. The IP44 rating allows the lantern to be used in exposed outdoor positions where rain and moisture are present but direct water jets are not expected. The 229mm square footprint suits standard brick pier caps and precast stone post tops commonly found on UK residential gates and boundary walls.

The bevelled glass cuts on each pane create prismatic light refraction when the bulbs are lit, scattering warm filament light across driveways and entrance paths. The black powder-coated finish on the aluminium frame resists corrosion and UV fade in outdoor conditions. The Cotswold Lane is rated IP44, meaning it's protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and splashing water from any direction. This makes it suitable for exposed outdoor positions on gate posts, walls and pillars where rain is expected but direct water jets (from pressure washers, for example) are not present.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting takes two E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, each up to a maximum of 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K to mimic traditional gas lantern light.

How is it mounted?
