Description

A gas lantern, 31cm tall, in anthracite. At 20cm wide it is about the width of a laptop.

A dark finish reads as a shape rather than a surface, so the outline does the work and the detail recedes. Against a pale wall that is graphic; against a dark one the piece almost disappears. Glass reads differently depending on what is behind it, which is why the same piece looks warm against a painted wall and cool against a window. It also means it wants cleaning more often than an opaque finish does.

The glass is tempered, so it breaks into blunt granules rather than shards. It takes a Gas Cartridge 190g canister, bought separately. 30 g/hr, which sets how long a canister lasts.

There is some assembly, though nothing requiring more than a screwdriver. A No regulator is needed. 0.4 kW n/a n/a n/a No n/a of heat, which is the figure to match to the area you want warmed.

It will last longer stored or covered over winter than left out in it.
