Description

The Cooper is a 170mm-wide outdoor wall light built around a 20W integrated LED that delivers 1700 lumens at 3000K warm white through a 120° beam angle. The housing is black powder-coated aluminium with an IP54 rating against water ingress and dust, mounted on a rectangular backplate that projects 178mm from the wall surface.

Designed for residential entranceways, porch lighting, patio walls and commercial building façades, the Cooper directs light downward and outward in a wide wash, illuminating 3-4 metres of wall or ground below the fitting. The 160mm height and compact profile suit modern brick, render and cladding exteriors where a low-profile fitting is needed without sacrificing light output. The backplate fixes to standard 25mm masonry plugs or wood screws through three pre-drilled holes.

The black powder coating resists UV fade and salt corrosion in coastal environments, while the IP54 ingress protection allows the Cooper to operate in exposed positions subject to rain and wind-blown dust. The 1700lm output is comparable to a 150W halogen bulb but draws only 20W, and the non-dimmable LED is rated for 25,000 hours of continuous operation. The fitting weighs 1.3kg and carries a 3-year warranty.

The Cooper needs no separate diffuser because the housing itself directs the output, and the integrated LED draws 20W regardless of use. The 1.3kg weight and 178mm projection keep the fitting sitting close to the wall, while the 170mm width and 160mm height give a compact footprint. Fixed at 3000K, the warm output suits doorways and entrances rather than the cooler tone of security floodlights, and it carries a 3 year warranty.

Yes. The IP54 rating protects against water spray from any direction and dust ingress, making it suitable for covered porches, open patios and fully exposed wall positions subject to rain.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 20W LED is integrated into the housing and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for 25,000 hours of continuous operation, equivalent to approximately 11 years if run 6 hours per night.

What area does the 120° beam angle cover?

Mounted at a typical porch height of 2-2.5 metres, the 120° beam illuminates approximately 3-4 metres of wall or ground directly below and to the sides of the fitting. The wide angle suits façade lighting and path illumination rather than focused spotlighting.

Does the black finish resist fading in direct sunlight?

The powder-coated aluminium housing is UV-resistant and suitable for south-facing walls in full sun. Coastal salt exposure and industrial pollution may require periodic cleaning with a damp cloth to maintain appearance.
