Description

The Coniston is an 800mm-diameter acorn-shaped crystal chandelier built around an antique brass frame, carrying 30 E14 bulb fittings arranged across cascading tiers of precision-cut clear crystal. The inverted teardrop form extends from a 120mm-diameter ceiling canopy through multiple rows of crystal strands, tapering to a single faceted crystal drop at the base. The antique brass metalwork sits behind the crystal layers, giving the piece a warm metallic undertone when lit.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, staircases and vaulted dining rooms with ceiling heights above 4 metres, the Coniston's adjustable drop runs from 1770mm to 4220mm on installation, allowing the chandelier to be positioned appropriately for the room volume. The 800mm diameter suits rooms of 6-8 metres square or larger, where the scale can be appreciated without overwhelming the sightlines. The 30-bulb array provides substantial output when fitted with LED or halogen candle bulbs (sold separately), distributing light evenly across the full height of the fitting.

The crystal is cut with multiple facets on each individual piece, creating refraction and sparkle under both artificial and natural light. The antique brass finish on the frame is oxidised to give a darker, aged tone compared to polished brass, reducing glare and pairing more naturally with period interiors, classical furniture and wood panelling. At 84.1kg installed weight, the Coniston requires a reinforced ceiling rose or joist-mounted fixing — installation by a qualified electrician is essential.
