Coniston 3 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - French Gold

A shallow round crystal fitting that sits close to the ceiling, its French gold frame holding rows of clear cut crystal. Three candle lamps sit inside the ring, so light passes through the glass and breaks up across the surrounding surfaces rather than falling in one hard pool. At 40cm across it draws the eye without swallowing a modest room, and the body is kept low so it stays well clear of head height.

It suits a hall, a landing, a bedroom or a small dining room, and it is one we reach for where a pendant would hang too low over a table or the top of a stair. In a bedroom it gives enough light to dress by without a stark overhead glare. On a dimmer it moves from bright to soft, though the lamps themselves need to be dimmable for that to work. Take E14 candle lamps, LED for preference, and the crystal will pick their light up kindly. We would keep the wattage modest and let the glass do the work.

The frame is metal in a French gold finish, warm in tone against the clear Diyas Select crystal. Clear crystal keeps the whole thing bright rather than tinted, and the gold stops it reading cold. For cleaning, work with the fitting cold and switched off at the wall, then run a soft dry brush between the crystal before wiping the metal with a barely damp cloth; sprays and polishes will dull both. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same size in polished chrome and antique brass, with wider rings and a longer linear version in the same range if you need light spread across more floor. Lamps are not included.

What lamps does it take?
Three E14 candle lamps, C35 shape. We would fit LED candles, up to a maximum of 20W each. They are bought separately.

Can it be dimmed?
Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and pair them with a suitable dimmer. Neither the lamps nor a dimmer come with it.

How much space does it need?
It measures 400mm in diameter and 250mm in overall height, with a body depth of 120mm, so it stays tight to the ceiling in rooms where headroom is tight.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry rooms such as halls, bedrooms and dining rooms, away from showers, baths and steam.

How do I clean the crystal?
With the fitting off and cold, dust between the crystal with a soft dry brush, then wipe the metalwork with a barely damp cloth and dry it at once. Avoid glass sprays and metal polishes.

Does it come in other finishes?
