The Coniston is a 400mm diameter crystal flush ceiling light with a circular French gold frame supporting multiple tiers of faceted clear crystal droplets around 12 E14 bulb fittings. The flush-mount design keeps the 250mm drop tight to the ceiling, making this fitting compatible with standard UK room heights of 2.4m without sacrificing the visual impact of a chandelier-style arrangement.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and primary bedrooms where a central ceiling light provides the main ambient illumination, the Coniston distributes light through the crystal droplets to create refractive patterns across walls and ceilings when bulbs are lit. The 12-bulb configuration allows for significant total light output depending on bulb choice — twelve 6W warm-white LED candle bulbs would provide approximately 4,800 lumens across the fitting, sufficient for a 20-25m² room as primary lighting.

The French gold finish is a warm-toned brass alloy with a soft sheen that sits between polished brass and antique brass in colour saturation. This tone pairs with warm timber floors, cream and beige textiles, and both traditional joinery and contemporary neutral schemes. Each crystal droplet is individually hung on the gold framework, so light refracts differently depending on viewing angle and time of day. At 5.9kg the fitting requires a ceiling rose or joist anchor capable of supporting at least 8kg installed weight.

The crystals are clear glass, machine-cut with faceted edges to maximise refraction. The fitting takes 12 E14 small Edison screw bulbs up to 20W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers choose LED candle bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) between 4-6W per bulb, giving total light output of 48-72W equivalent across the fitting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable E14 bulbs and pair the fitting with a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer. The fitting itself has no dimming electronics — dimming is controlled by bulb choice and wall dimmer compatibility.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 250mm drop from ceiling to lowest crystal point suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In a room with 2.4m ceilings the lowest crystal hangs at approximately 2.15m from the floor, clearing head height in circulation areas.

How are the crystals cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal droplet gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame or allowing water to run into the bulb sockets.
