Colors Deko Drop Bulb - Amber

Colors Deko Drop Bulb is an E27 lamp in amber glass. A teardrop bulb in warm amber glass, broad at the belly and drawn up to a short neck, carrying four straight filaments that stand upright inside it in a tight bundle on a fine glass stem. The amber is even through the glass and the filaments read as a bright column. A plain silver screw cap finishes the neck, deeply ribbed. There is nothing printed on it. It is meant to be looked at. It measures 6.4cm across and 14cm tall.

It fits any E27 holder, so it goes straight into a fitting that already takes one, and it is the lamp rather than the fitting that sets how the light reads. Put it where it can be looked at: a bare holder on a flex, an open cage, a clear shade or a run of pendants over an island. Inside a closed shade none of the shape survives and a plain lamp would do the same work for less. The light is a warm white, which suits a room you sit in rather than one you work in. It steps through its brightness levels on the ordinary wall switch, so a fitting with no dimmer on it can still be turned down in the evening.

It has an E27 cap and fits any E27 holder. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms. It carries an F energy label.

Which fittings does it fit?

Any fitting with an E27 holder. It has an E27 cap, the standard screw fitting, so it goes straight into a lamp, pendant or ceiling light that takes one.

Can it be dimmed?

It steps through 3 brightness settings on the ordinary wall switch, so it needs no dimmer.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
