Description

The Colette is an 80cm diameter LED semi-flush ceiling light built from polished chrome-plated aluminium arms arranged in a circular frame, each arm fitted with an opal silicone diffuser strip. The integrated 65W LED runs at 3000K warm white across all six arms, and the light is controlled via a radio-frequency remote that allows dimming from 0-10V without needing a wall dimmer switch.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and entrance halls with standard 2.4m ceiling heights, the semi-flush mount projects just 16cm from the ceiling, leaving headroom clearance while the 80cm diameter provides enough spread for rooms between 15-25m². The circular arrangement of arms creates both direct downlight through the opal diffusers and reflected light off the polished chrome surfaces, giving a combination of ambient and accent illumination. The remote control ships with the fitting and operates within typical room distances of 8-10m.

Each arm is a hollow chrome-plated aluminium section housing an LED strip behind an opal silicone diffuser that softens the light output and hides individual LED diodes. The chrome finish is polished rather than brushed, so it reflects both daylight and the LED output, creating highlights that shift as you move around the room. The 2.56kg weight is distributed across the central mounting plate, which fixes to a standard UK ceiling rose with three screws. The IP20 rating confirms indoor dry-location use only.

The 0-10V dimmable driver sits within the ceiling cavity and connects to standard UK 230V mains. Yes. A radio-frequency remote control ships with the fitting and operates the 0-10V dimmer driver built into the light. The remote works within typical room distances of 8-10m and does not require line-of-sight to the fitting.

Can it be used with a wall dimmer switch?

The fitting includes a 0-10V dimmable driver controlled by the supplied remote. If you want to use a wall dimmer instead, the driver would need to be compatible with the dimmer protocol. Most installations use the remote control as supplied, which works with standard on/off wall switches.

What room size does the 80cm diameter suit?

The 80cm spread and 65W output suit rooms between 15-25m² — typical for a 4m x 5m living room or a 3.5m x 4.5m dining room. Larger open-plan spaces may benefit from two fittings or additional task lighting.

How is the chrome finish maintained?

Polished chrome attracts fingerprints and dust. Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth when the light is off and cool. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid household sprays or polishes that can dull the chrome plating.
