Description
This COB LED strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible reel, giving an even line of light with none of the spotting you see on spaced SMD tape. It runs at 8W per metre and puts out 760 lumens per metre in a 6500K daylight tone, with a high CRI of Ra90 so colours read accurately under it. Often searched as LED tape or, in the US, light strip, the reel cuts to length at the marked points every 2.5 cm so a run can be trimmed to fit the exact length needed. It runs from a 12V DC supply rather than straight off the mains.
Coverage suits cove and ceiling perimeters, under-cabinet and worktop lines, shelving, stair and skirting runs, and sheltered outdoor edges such as a porch soffit or pergola beam. The light reads as a clean continuous band rather than a row of dots, so it works well where the strip is partly in view along an edge or recess. As a linear accent it lights the surface it grazes rather than a whole room, so plan it as outline and task-edge lighting and combine it with ambient fittings for general brightness. The daylight tone keeps it crisp for kitchen and workshop tasks.
The strip carries an IP65 rating, so the diodes are coated against moisture and it is suitable for damp and sheltered outdoor locations as well as dry interiors. It needs a matching 12V DC LED driver, sold separately, sized to the total wattage of the length installed; it does not plug straight into a wall socket. The flexible backing lets it follow curves and corners, and it cuts only at the marked 2.5 cm intervals. Rated for around 30,000 hours, it ships on a 25m reel. Our range also includes the matching drivers and connectors to complete an install.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it needs a matching LED driver between it and the mains, sold separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you install, allowing 8W for every metre of strip used.
Can it be cut to length and where?
Yes. The reel can be trimmed to fit your run, but only at the marked cut points, which fall every 2.5 cm along the strip. Cutting elsewhere will damage the circuit, so always cut on the marked line.
Is it suitable for outdoor or damp use?
Yes. The IP65 rating means the diodes are coated against moisture, so it can be used in damp areas and sheltered outdoor positions such as a porch soffit or pergola. It is happy indoors too for kitchens, coves and under-cabinet lines.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the coated surface with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth once the strip is switched off and cool. Avoid solvents and abrasive pads, which can mark the IP65 coating. Take care around cut ends and connectors so no moisture gets behind the seal.
