Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible reel, giving an even run of light with none of the spotting you get from spaced SMD strips. It draws 8W per metre and puts out 800 lumens per metre in a crisp 6500K daylight tone, with a high CRI of Ra 90 for true colour. Sold as led tape, this is the same product US buyers know as a COB LED strip light, and it runs from a 12V DC supply.
Indoors it suits under-cabinet runs in a kitchen, cove and shelf lighting, display cases and home-office task accents, hidden along an edge so only the wash of light shows. The coverage is a continuous linear glow rather than a room flood, so think of it as outlining or grazing a surface rather than lighting a whole space. With an IP00 rating it is for dry indoor use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, kitchens splash zones and any outdoor location.
The strip cuts to length at the marked interval every 2.5cm, so you trim it to the exact run you need at each joint point. Being 12V DC it is not mains-direct and needs a matching 12V LED driver, sold separately, sized to the total wattage of your run. The reel measures 50m, weighs 568g and is rated to around 30,000 hours. Backing tape lets it fix to a clean, dry surface. The wider range includes matching drivers and connectors to complete the install.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a separate driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, not mains, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver sized to the total wattage of your run. The driver is sold separately, so add one rated for at least 8W per metre of strip you fit.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. It cuts cleanly at the marked points every 2.5cm, so you can trim each run to fit. Only cut at the marked intervals, and you can rejoin sections with the appropriate connectors.
Is it suitable for outdoor or bathroom use?
No. This strip is rated IP00, which is for dry indoor locations only. Keep it out of bathrooms, kitchen splash zones, porches and any outdoor or damp setting.
Where is this strip best used?
It works well for under-cabinet kitchen lighting, cove and shelf runs, display cases and task accents. The dot-free COB design gives an even line of light, ideal where the strip is partly visible or grazes a surface.
