Description

This COB LED strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible reel, giving an even ribbon of light with none of the spotting seen on older SMD tape. It draws 8W per metre and puts out 760 lumens per metre in a fixed 4000K cool white, with Ra90 colour rendering so colours stay true under the run. Often sold in the US as led tape light, the strip runs from a 12V DC supply and comes on a generous 25m reel that can be cut to length at the marked 2.5 cm intervals. It is not a mains-direct product: it needs a matching 12V LED driver, supplied separately, sized to the total length you install.

Being IP65 rated, the strip is coated against moisture and dust, so it works in damp and sheltered outdoor positions as well as dry interiors. That makes it a flexible choice for under-cabinet and worktop lighting in a kitchen, cove and shelf detailing, garden room eaves, covered patios and pergola undersides. The dot-free line suits places where the strip is seen edge-on or behind a shallow diffuser, since there are no visible hot-spots along its length. Coverage depends on how much of the reel you run and how close the strip sits to the surface it grazes, so plan the layout around the lit edge rather than a fixed floor area.

The strip sits on a flexible backing that bends around corners and follows curved profiles, and it cuts cleanly only at the printed 2.5 cm cut points. Each section runs at 12V DC through the separate driver, and the cool white 4000K output is fixed rather than colour selectable. The IP65 coating seals the diodes for outdoor and wet locations, and the rated life is 30,000 hours. The full 25m reel weighs 412 g. Yes. It is a 12V DC strip, not a mains-direct fitting, so it runs from a matching 12V LED driver that is sold separately. Size the driver to the total length you are installing, allowing 8W for every metre of strip in the run.

Can the strip be cut to length?

Yes. It cuts cleanly at the marked points every 2.5 cm along the reel, so you can trim it to fit a worktop, shelf or cove. Only cut at those printed points, and join offcuts with the correct connectors for a 12V COB strip.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes, within reason. The IP65 coating protects against moisture and dust, so it suits damp and sheltered outdoor spots such as covered patios, eaves and pergola undersides. It is not intended for full submersion or standing water.

How do I keep the strip clean?

Wipe the coated surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth and let it dry before switching back on. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which can mark the IP65 coating. A gentle wipe is usually enough to clear dust and grease from kitchen or outdoor runs.
