Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible reel, giving an even ribbon of light with no visible hotspots. It draws 8W per metre and puts out 736 lumens per metre in a 3000K warm white, with a high CRI of Ra90 for accurate colour. Sold across the US as an LED tape light, the strip runs from a 12V DC LED driver rather than direct from the mains, and cuts to length at marked intervals every 2.5cm so a run can be trimmed to fit. The 50m reel covers long installs from a single roll.
Because it is dot-free, this strip suits cove and under-cabinet lighting, shelf and display edges, and outline runs where individual diodes would otherwise show through a diffuser. The warm 3000K tone works well in kitchens, living rooms and hallways where a soft, relaxed light is wanted. Coverage is best judged by the linear run rather than a floor area: at 736 lumens per metre it delivers a bright, continuous accent or task line along worktops, plinths and recesses. The IP00 rating means it is for dry indoor positions only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, damp utility areas and any outdoor location.
The diodes sit on a slim flexible backing 8mm wide, letting the strip bend around corners and into tight channels and aluminium profiles. It is rated IP00 for dry interiors, with a stated 30,000 hour lifespan. A matching 12V DC driver is needed to power the run and is specified separately, sized to the total wattage of the cut length. We stock the COB strip alongside the wider LED strip range, including matching profiles and drivers to complete the install.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it must be powered through a matching 12V LED driver rather than wired straight into the mains. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you install, allowing roughly 8W for every metre of strip used.
Where can the strip be cut?
The strip is cut-to-length at marked points every 2.5cm along the reel. Always cut on the marked line so the circuit stays intact, and only join or re-power sections using the correct connectors or solder pads.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This version is rated IP00, which is for dry indoor use only. It should not be fitted in bathrooms, damp utility spaces or any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor position; choose a coated IP65 strip for those locations instead.
How do I clean the strip?
Switch off and let it cool, then wipe gently along its length with a dry or barely damp lint-free cloth. Avoid soaking it or using solvents, and take care around any cut ends and solder points so the connections are not disturbed.
