Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes set on a flexible reel, giving an even run of light with no visible spotting along its length. It draws 8 watts per metre and puts out 800 lumens per metre in a Cool White 4000K tone, so the light reads bright and clean rather than warm. Often sold in the US as COB LED tape or light strip, it lays into channels, profiles and tight returns where a smooth, uninterrupted line matters more than raw spread. The reel runs to 50 metres and can be cut to length at the marked points every 2.5 cm.
Because the light comes as a low, linear wash rather than a beam, it suits cove detailing, shelf and cabinet under-runs, stair stringers and display joinery where the source itself should stay hidden. The dot-free face means the lit line looks solid when viewed straight on, which is why it works well in shallow channels and along edges close to eye level. Coverage here is about the length of run you build rather than a floor area, so plan the metreage to the feature you want to graze, then cut at the nearest 2.5 cm mark to finish the run cleanly.
The strip runs on 12V DC and needs a matching LED driver, which is supplied separately and sized to the total wattage of the run you cut. It carries an IP00 rating, so it is for dry indoor positions only and should be kept clear of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor location. Colour rendering is rated at Ra 90 for accurate tones on whatever it lights, with a stated lifespan of around 30,000 hours. We also stock matching 12V drivers and aluminium profiles across the range to complete an install.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a separate driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it cannot connect straight to the mains and needs a 12V LED driver, supplied separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you cut, allowing 8 watts for every metre in the run.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. It can be cut at the marked cut points, which fall every 2.5 cm along the reel. Only cut on those marks so the circuit stays intact, and measure your run before cutting from the 50 metre reel.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This strip is rated IP00, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor position, and choose a coated IP65 strip where moisture is a factor.
How do I keep the strip clean?
Wipe the surface gently with a dry or barely damp lint-free cloth once the supply is switched off. Avoid solvents and heavy moisture, since the bare IP00 strip is not sealed against water, and let it dry fully before powering it back on.
