Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible reel, giving a smooth band of light with no visible spotting along its length. It runs at 8W per metre and puts out 720 lumens per metre in a warm white 3000K tone, so the lit line reads soft and even rather than as a row of separate points. The strip is supplied on a 25m reel and cuts to length at the marked points every 2.5cm, letting you tailor each run to the exact span you need. In US terms this is a low-voltage warm white LED tape, sized and trimmed the same way.
The strip suits under-cabinet runs, shelf edges, cove and pelmet detailing, plinth lines and display joinery where a clean unbroken glow matters more than wide spread. Because the output is directional along the reel, think of it as edge and outline lighting rather than as ambient room lighting: it grazes a surface or underlines a feature rather than filling a space with general brightness. With CRI Ra90 the warm white renders timber, paint and worktop finishes faithfully, which makes it a good fit for kitchens, joinery and retail shelving. Plan the layout around the 2.5cm cut interval so each section lands cleanly within a recess or channel.
This is a 12V DC strip, so it is not mains-direct and needs a matching 12V LED driver, sized to the total wattage of the run and sold separately. Rated IP00, it is for dry indoor use only; keep it out of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor position. The flexible PCB lets it follow gentle curves and inside corners, and the rated lifespan is 30,000 hours. The reel weighs 280g and cuts only at the printed marks, so measure each length before trimming.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a driver?
Yes. It is a 12V DC strip, so it cannot connect straight to the mains and needs a matching 12V LED driver. Size the driver to the total wattage of the run, allowing 8W for every metre installed. The driver is sold separately.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. It can be trimmed every 2.5cm at the marked cut points along the reel. Always cut on the printed marks rather than between them, and measure each section first so it sits cleanly within its recess or channel.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This strip is rated IP00, which means dry indoor use only. It offers no protection against moisture, so keep it clear of bathrooms, kitchens splashback zones and any outdoor or damp location.
What does the warm white COB look like compared with a standard strip?
COB places the diodes in a continuous line behind a diffused layer, so the result is a smooth, dot-free band of light rather than a row of visible points. At 3000K it gives a warm white glow, and the Ra90 rating means colours and finishes are rendered faithfully under it.
