COB LED Strip 7.5W/m 24V 20m Warm White - Dot-Free

This COB LED strip lights a room with a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible reel, so the run reads as one even band rather than a row of individual points. It draws 7.5W per metre and gives 640 lumens per metre in a 3000K warm white, with Ra90 colour rendering that keeps surfaces and finishes looking true. Sold across the US as LED tape light, it runs on 24V DC rather than direct mains, and the 20m reel cuts to length at the marked points every 5cm so you can size each section to the job.

Cove lighting, under-cabinet runs in a kitchen, shelf and display edges, stair undersides and behind a headboard all suit this strip, where the dot-free line hides the source and washes the surface evenly. The warm 3000K tone reads as a soft, relaxed light rather than a task-bright one, so it works well as a secondary or accent layer alongside the main fitting. Coverage depends on how long a length you run and how close it sits to the surface it grazes, so plan it to the channel or recess it tucks into rather than to a fixed floor area. Tucking it into an aluminium profile both diffuses the line further and helps the strip shed heat over its 30,000-hour life.

The strip is IP00, which is a dry indoor rating, so keep it clear of bathrooms, damp utility spaces and anywhere outdoors. It needs a matching 24V DC LED driver, supplied separately, and that driver must be sized to the total wattage of the length you install at 7.5W per metre. Cut only at the printed 5cm intervals, then connect with the appropriate solder or clip joint. Does this strip need a separate driver?

Yes. It runs on 24V DC, not mains voltage, so it needs a matching 24V LED driver, which is sold separately. Size the driver to the total load of the length you fit, working at 7.5W per metre, and add a little headroom.

Can the strip be cut to length?

Yes. The reel cuts at the marked points every 5cm, so you can trim each section to suit a shelf, cabinet or cove. Only cut on those marks, then join the cut ends with a suitable solder or connector. The offcut can be reused on the same driver if there is capacity.

Is this strip suitable for outdoor or bathroom use?

No. It carries an IP00 rating, which means dry indoor use only. Keep it away from bathrooms, damp areas and anywhere outside, and choose an IP65 coated strip for those locations instead.

What does the warm white look like and how good is the colour?

The 3000K colour temperature gives a soft, warm light that suits living rooms, bedrooms and relaxed display areas. Its Ra90 colour rendering keeps wood, paint and other finishes looking natural, which makes it a good choice for accent and feature lighting.
