Description
This COB LED strip lays down a continuous, dot-free line of colour-changing RGB light along a flexible 5 metre reel. Unlike spaced SMD diodes, the chip-on-board construction gives an even, uninterrupted glow with no visible hotspots, drawing up to 15W per metre. Known in the US as led tape light, it is one of the more versatile led strip lights for accent and outline work, switching freely through the RGB spectrum to set the tone of a space.
The strip suits indoor accent runs such as under-cabinet detail in a kitchen, cove and ceiling perimeter lighting in a living room, shelving and display niches, or a soft wash behind a media unit. Because the light is decorative rather than ambient room lighting, think of it as a continuous line of colour grazing along an edge rather than a fixed coverage area. It cuts to length every 3.1 cm at the marked points, so a single reel can be trimmed to fit a worktop, a stair stringer or a bookcase exactly, with the offcut used elsewhere where the layout allows.
Built on a slim flexible carrier just 10 mm wide, the strip carries an IP00 rating, which makes it strictly for dry indoor use; keep it clear of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor position. It runs on 24V DC, so it is not mains-direct and needs a matching 24V LED driver, which is supplied separately and must be sized to the total length in use. Rated at 30,000 hours, it gives long service in fitted detail lighting. We stock the wider COB LED strip range alongside compatible drivers to complete the run.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 24V DC rather than direct mains, so it requires a matching 24V LED driver, sold separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you install, allowing for the 15W per metre draw.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. It cuts cleanly at the marked points every 3.1 cm, so you can trim the 5 metre reel to suit a worktop, shelf or cove. Only cut at the marked intervals to keep each section working correctly.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. The strip is rated IP00, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor position, as it has no protection against moisture.
How do I keep the strip clean?
Wipe the surface gently with a dry or barely-damp lint-free cloth with the power off, avoiding solvents and excess moisture. Because it is IP00 and indoor only, never use a wet cloth or cleaning spray directly on the strip.
