Description

This COB LED strip puts out a continuous, dot-free line of light along a flexible 5 metre reel, drawing 12W per metre for 1080 lumens per metre in a crisp daylight 6500K tone. The face is a solid bar of closely packed diodes rather than spaced points, so there are no visible spots and no shadow gaps in the beam, which is what sets COB led strip apart from a standard SMD reel. The line cuts to length at the marked intervals, letting you trim it to a run or shelf without waste, and it carries a Ra90 colour rendering that keeps colours and detail looking true under the light.

Being a dot-free line, this strip suits cove runs, under-cabinet lighting, shelf edges, stair noses and outline detailing where a smooth, even glow matters more than a wide spread. The IP65 rating means it copes with damp and sheltered outdoor spots such as a porch soffit, a covered patio edge or a kitchen splashback zone, not just dry interiors. Rather than lighting a whole room on its own, it works as a linear accent or task line, so plan its length to the surface or recess you want to graze; the daylight tone reads bright and clean, which makes it well suited to worktops, workshops and display areas.

The strip runs on a 12V DC LED driver, which is sold separately, so it is not a mains-direct product and must be paired with a matching 12V supply sized to the total wattage of the run you install. It is self-adhesive backed for fixing along a clean surface or into an aluminium profile, and the IP65 coating seals the diodes against splashes and moisture. Rated for around 30,000 hours, it is cut only at the printed marks. Does this LED strip need a driver?

Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it cannot connect straight to a mains socket and needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is supplied separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of your run, allowing 12W for each metre of strip you install.

Can the strip be cut to length?

Yes. The COB strip can be trimmed to suit your run, but only at the marked cut points printed along the reel. Cutting between the marks will leave a dead section, so always cut on the line.

Is it suitable for outdoor or damp areas?

It carries an IP65 rating, so it is sealed against moisture and splashes and is fine for damp and sheltered outdoor locations such as a porch soffit or covered patio edge. It is well suited to bathroom zones and splashback runs as well as dry interiors.

How do I clean the strip?

Wipe it gently with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth once it is switched off and cool. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which can damage the IP65 coating, and do not soak the reel even though it is sealed against splashes.
