Description
The COB LED Strip gives a continuous, dot-free line of light along its flexible 5 metre reel, with the diodes packed edge to edge so no individual points show through a diffuser. It draws 12W per metre and puts out 1080 lumens per metre in a crisp 4000K cool white, with a CRI of Ra 90 for accurate colour. In US terms this is an led tape light, the kind used for under cabinet and cove runs, and it works in much the same way: it cuts to length at the marked interval and runs from a 12V DC driver rather than direct mains.
Rated IP65, this strip is coated against moisture and dust, so it suits sheltered outdoor runs, eaves, garden cabins and patios as well as damp indoor spots such as kitchens, utility rooms and bathrooms. Indoors it works well for under-cabinet task light, cove and shelf lighting, and outlining stairs or skirting. Coverage depends on how much length is run rather than a floor area, so plan the strip to follow the edge or recess you want lit; the even, dot-free output reads as a clean line of light along the whole run with no visible hotspots.
The diodes sit on a flexible carrier that bends round corners and cuts to length only at the marked points, so trim it to fit each run. It is a 12V DC strip, which means it is not mains-direct and needs a matching 12V LED driver, sized to the total wattage of the length installed and bought separately unless supplied as a kit. The IP65 coating seals the strip for wet and exposed positions, and rated life is around 30,000 hours. Other reels and matching drivers in the range let you scale a run or split it across several short lengths.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a separate driver?
Yes. It is a 12V DC strip, so it does not run direct from the mains and needs a matching 12V LED driver. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you install, allowing for 12W per metre, and add one unless the strip is supplied as a kit.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. The COB strip cuts only at the marked cut points along the reel, so trim it to suit each run. The 5 metre reel can be split into several shorter lengths, each then connected back to a driver.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
Yes. The IP65 rating means the strip is coated against moisture and dust, so it is suitable for sheltered outdoor runs and damp indoor locations such as kitchens, utility rooms and bathrooms. Keep the driver and any connections in a dry, protected position.
How do I clean the strip?
Switch off and let it cool, then wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it off. Avoid solvents or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the coating, and take care around the cut ends and connectors.
