Description
This COB LED strip lights the run as one continuous, dot-free line rather than a row of separate diodes, giving an even glow with no spotting through a diffuser. Known in the US as LED tape light, it draws 12W per metre and puts out 1080 lumens per metre in a crisp 4000K cool white, with a high Ra 90 colour rendering that keeps surfaces and materials looking true. The strip comes on a flexible 5m reel and cuts to length only at the marked intervals, so a run can be trimmed to fit the exact span.
Under-cabinet runs, shelf and display edges, cove and recess detailing, and joinery lighting all suit this strip, where the dot-free output reads as a clean line of light rather than a string of dots. Because the beam works as accent and task edge-lighting rather than ambient room lighting, judge it on the length and brightness of the run you need rather than a floor area. The 1080 lumens per metre gives a usable working light along a worktop or shelf, and the flat, low-profile tape tucks neatly into a channel or behind a lip.
The strip runs on 12V DC and is not a mains-direct fitting, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is sold separately and sized to the total wattage of the run. With an IP00 rating it is intended for dry indoor positions only and should be kept clear of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor location. Rated for around 30,000 hours, the diodes sit on a flexible backing that bends around corners. We also stock matching drivers and aluminium profiles across the range.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, not mains voltage, so it needs a 12V LED driver sized to the total wattage of your run. The driver is sold separately, so add the wattage of every metre you use and choose a driver rated above that.
Where can the strip be cut?
The strip cuts to length only at the marked cut points along the reel. Cutting at any other position will leave that section dead, so always trim on the line. The remaining length still works once reconnected to the driver.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This strip is rated IP00, which means dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor position, as it has no protection against moisture.
How do I clean the strip?
Switch off at the driver and let it cool, then wipe the surface gently with a dry or barely damp soft cloth. Avoid solvents and do not let water reach the diodes or the cut ends. If it sits in a profile, a quick wipe of the channel keeps the output clean.
