Description

This COB LED strip lights the line as one continuous, dot-free run of diodes on a flexible reel, so there are no visible hot spots along its length. It draws 10W per metre and gives 920 lumens per metre in a fixed 3000K warm white, with a high Ra 90 colour rendering that keeps surfaces and finishes looking true. Sold in the United States as LED tape light, it runs from a low-voltage 12V DC supply rather than direct mains, and the reel cuts to length at the marked points every 2.5cm so a run can be trimmed to fit the space exactly.

Even, shadow-free output makes it well suited to under-cabinet runs in a kitchen, cove and pelmet lighting, shelving, display niches and stair or skirting outlines. Because the strip is rated IP00 it is for dry indoor positions only, so keep it well clear of bathrooms, damp utility areas and any exposed location. The 50m supply lets several rooms or long architectural runs be served from a single reel, and the continuous diode line throws a smooth band of light without the dotted look of spaced SMD tape, which is what makes it read as a clean line of brightness behind a kitchen plinth or along a coffered ceiling.

The strip is a flexible, low-profile reel measuring 8mm wide, light at 568g across the full length and rated for around 30,000 hours of use. As a 12V DC strip it is not a mains-direct fitting and needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is specified separately and sized to the total wattage of the run being installed. Cut only at the marked 2.5cm intervals, then connect each section to the low-voltage supply. The fixed 3000K warm white tone is set at manufacture, so there is no colour switching to configure on site.

Does this strip need a separate driver?

Yes. It is a 12V DC strip, not a mains-direct fitting, so it must be run from a matching 12V LED driver. Size the driver to the total wattage of your run, allowing 10W for every metre of strip used. The driver is specified separately unless supplied as part of a kit.

Can the strip be cut to length, and where?

Yes. The reel is cut to length at the marked cut points, which fall every 2.5cm along its length. Cut only at those marks so each section keeps a complete circuit, then connect the cut end back to the 12V supply.

Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?

No. This strip is rated IP00, which means it is for dry indoor positions only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, damp utility areas and any exposed or sheltered-outdoor location, where a coated IP65 strip would be needed instead.

What colour and brightness does it give?

It produces a fixed 3000K warm white at 920 lumens per metre, with high Ra 90 colour rendering for accurate-looking surfaces. The continuous COB diode line gives a smooth, dot-free band of light rather than the spotted look of spaced SMD tape.
