Description
The COB LED Strip puts out a continuous, dot-free line of light along a flexible 5 metre reel, drawing 10W per metre for 860 lumens per metre of even warm white at 3000K. Unlike older spaced-diode tape, the COB (chip-on-board) layout hides the individual emitters under a single coated surface, so the run reads as one smooth band rather than a row of bright points. In US terms this is the same format sold as warm white COB led tape or led strip light, and it cuts to length at the marked 2.5 cm intervals so a run can be sized to the exact length needed.
With an IP65 rating the strip is coated against moisture and suits sheltered outdoor and damp positions as well as dry interiors. It works well outlining eaves, soffits, fences, pergolas and patio edges outside, and under kitchen cabinets, along coving, behind shelving or around a mirror inside. Because it is a linear accent rather than ambient room lighting, think of it in terms of the length of edge or cove you want to graze rather than a floor area: at 860 lumens per metre it gives a soft, consistent wash along whatever line it follows, with the warm 3000K tone keeping the effect mellow.
The strip runs on 12V DC, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is supplied separately and should be sized to the total wattage of the length installed. It cuts only at the marked 2.5 cm points, and the adhesive backing fixes it to a clean, dry surface or into an aluminium profile for heat dissipation and a tidier finish. Colour rendering is rated Ra90 for accurate tones, and the LEDs are rated for around 30,000 hours. We also stock the matching 12V drivers and aluminium profiles to complete the run.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a separate driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, not mains voltage, so it must be powered through a 12V LED driver, which is supplied separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you install, allowing for the 10W per metre draw plus a little headroom.
Can the strip be cut to length, and where?
Yes. The reel can be cut to size at the marked cut points, which fall every 2.5 cm along the strip. Always cut on the marked line so the circuit stays intact, and only join offcuts using the correct connectors or solder pads.
Is it suitable for outdoor or damp areas?
Yes. The strip carries an IP65 rating, so it is coated against moisture and suited to sheltered outdoor and damp locations such as eaves, patios, pergolas and bathrooms. It is not intended for full submersion, so keep it clear of standing water.
How do I clean and maintain the strip?
Wipe the coated surface gently with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth once the supply is switched off, avoiding solvents and abrasive cleaners that could mark the coating. For strips fitted in an aluminium profile, a quick wipe of the diffuser keeps the output even and bright.
