Description

This COB LED strip lights a room with one continuous, dot-free line of diodes across its 5 metre reel, drawing 10W and giving 1050 lumens per metre at a crisp 6500K daylight white. Unlike spaced SMD strip, the chip-on-board format hides the individual diodes behind an even, glare-free run, so there is no dotting along coves, shelves or profiles. Sold across the US as led tape light, it runs on 24V DC and is cut to length at the marked points every 5cm, letting the reel be trimmed to the exact length of a cabinet, shelf or recess.

The strip suits indoor accent and task runs where a clean line of light matters: under kitchen wall units, along shelving, inside display cabinets, around cove and skirting detail, or as backlighting behind a TV or mirror frame. Coverage is best judged by run length rather than floor area, since this is a linear accent source rather than ambient room lighting. The high Ra 90 colour rendering keeps surfaces, worktops and finishes looking true under the daylight tone, which makes it a good choice for task zones and display lighting. With IP00 rating it is strictly for dry indoor positions; keep it clear of bathrooms, splash zones and any damp or outdoor location.

The reel is a flexible PCB carrying the COB diodes, ready to be cut at the 5cm intervals and joined or extended as the layout needs. Being a 24V DC strip it is not mains-direct: it needs a matching 24V LED driver, sized to the total wattage of the run and sold separately. Rated for around 30,000 hours, it gives a long working life across the daylight output. Our range also includes the matching 24V drivers and connectors to complete the install.

Does this strip need a separate driver?

Yes. It is a 24V DC strip, so it cannot connect straight to a mains socket. It needs a 24V LED driver rated for the total wattage of your run, which is sold separately, allow 10W for every metre you install.

Where can the strip be cut?

The reel can be trimmed to length at the marked cut points every 5cm. Cut only at those points so the circuit stays intact, then use a connector or solder the feed at the new end.

Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?

No. This strip is rated IP00, which means dry indoor use only. Keep it away from bathrooms, splash zones and any damp or outdoor position, and choose an IP65 coated strip for those areas instead.

How do I clean the strip?

Wipe the surface gently with a dry or barely damp lint-free cloth once the strip is switched off and cool. Avoid solvents and soaking, as water can reach the exposed PCB on an IP00 strip.
