Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible reel, giving an even run of light with none of the spotting you see on older spaced-diode tape. It draws 10W per metre and puts out 1000 lumens per metre in a crisp 6500K daylight tone, with a high CRI of Ra 90 so colours read accurately under it. Across the US market the same product is known as COB LED tape or a light strip, and the format suits anyone wanting a clean, glare-free line rather than visible dots. The reel runs on 12V DC and can be cut to length at the marked points.
This strip works well for under-cabinet runs in a kitchen, shelf and display lighting, cove and ceiling-perimeter detailing, and accent runs behind a media unit or along a stair stringer indoors. As a continuous line it throws an even wash along whatever surface it sits against, so it is better judged on length and placement than on a room-coverage figure. With 1000 lumens per metre the daylight output is bright enough for task areas such as a worktop while still reading as an accent on a shelf edge. Its IP00 rating means it is for dry indoor positions only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, damp utility areas and any outdoor location.
The strip cuts to length every 2.5cm at the printed cut marks, letting you tailor each run to the space. It needs a matching 12V DC LED driver, which is sold separately, so it does not connect straight to a mains socket and should be sized to the total wattage of the run you are building. Rated for around 30,000 hours, it is supplied on a 50m reel and weighs 568g. Our wider range covers the matching 12V drivers and connectors needed to complete an installation.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is sold separately. It does not plug straight into a mains socket, and the driver should be rated to cover the total wattage of the length you install.
Can the strip be cut to length, and where?
Yes, it can be cut to length at the printed cut marks, which fall every 2.5cm along the reel. Always cut only at those marked points so the diodes and circuit stay intact.
Can I use this strip outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. It carries an IP00 rating, so it is for dry indoor positions only. Keep it out of bathrooms, damp utility spaces and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor location.
How do I clean the strip?
Switch off the supply and let it cool, then wipe the surface gently with a dry or barely damp lint-free cloth. Avoid solvents and do not soak it, as it is not rated against moisture.
