Description
This COB LED strip light gives a continuous, dot-free line of diodes along a flexible reel, so the lit edge reads as one even line rather than a row of separate points. It draws 10 watts per metre and puts out 920 lumens per metre in a cool white 4000K tone, with a Ra 90 colour rendering that keeps surfaces and finishes looking true. Sold in the US as COB LED tape light, the format suits anyone wanting a clean, glare-controlled run rather than visible diodes. Each reel measures 5 metres and cuts to length at the marked points every 5 cm, so you trim it to fit the run rather than the other way round.
Because it carries an IP65 rating, the strip is coated against moisture and copes with damp and sheltered outdoor positions as well as dry indoor ones, which makes it a flexible choice for under-cabinet kitchen runs, cove and shelf detailing, stair edges, garden eaves and covered patio outlines. The cool white output throws a crisp, bright line that works well as task-edge light over a worktop or as an even outline grazing along a soffit or step. Coverage depends on how many metres you run and how the strip is positioned, so plan the length to the surface you want to light and use the 5 cm cut interval to follow corners and returns neatly.
The strip runs on 24V DC, so it is not a mains-direct fitting: it needs a matching 24V LED driver, sold separately, sized to the total wattage of the run you install. Do not connect it straight to a wall socket. The flexible backing lets it follow curves and corners, and at 10W per metre with a rated 30,000 hour lifespan it is built for long, low-maintenance runs. Our range also includes the matching drivers and connectors to complete the installation.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a separate driver?
Yes. It runs on 24V DC, so it needs a matching 24V LED driver rather than a direct mains connection. Size the driver to the total wattage of your run, allowing 10 watts for every metre of strip you install. The driver is sold separately.
Can the strip be cut to length, and where?
Yes. The reel can be trimmed to fit at the marked cut points, which fall every 5 cm along its length. Cut only at those marks so the circuit stays intact, and trim to suit the run before fixing it in place.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, within reason. The IP65 rating means the strip is coated against moisture, so it copes with damp and sheltered outdoor positions such as covered eaves, porches and patio outlines. It is equally at home in dry indoor settings like under-cabinet or cove runs.
What is the difference between this and an SMD strip?
A COB strip uses a continuous line of diodes, so the lit edge reads as one even line with no visible dots. An SMD strip has spaced diodes that can show as individual points, especially up close. This reel gives 920 lumens per metre in a cool white 4000K tone with Ra 90 colour rendering.
