Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes laid along a flexible 5m reel, giving an even run of light with no visible spotting between LEDs. It draws 10W per metre and puts out around 1000 lumens per metre in a crisp 4000K cool white, with a high Ra90 colour rendering that keeps surfaces and finishes looking true. Known in US terms as COB LED tape light, it runs from a 24V DC supply rather than straight off the mains, so it pairs with a matching 24V LED driver chosen to suit the total length being installed.
Because the light is a smooth line rather than a string of dots, this strip suits under-cabinet runs in a kitchen, cove and shelf lighting, display cases, and outline detailing where a clean band of brightness reads better than separate points. The dry-indoor IP00 build means it is for interior use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor position. The 4000K tone and Ra90 rendering make it a sensible pick for task-led spots such as worktops and joinery, where accurate colour and a neutral white help the work in hand.
The reel cuts to length at the marked points every 5cm, so it can be trimmed to fit a run and powered only along the length you need. As a 24V DC strip it requires a separately specified 24V LED driver sized to the load, and must not be connected directly to a wall socket. The diodes are rated for around 30,000 hours of life, and the slim 8mm-wide flexible backing bends around shallow curves and into channels. We also stock matching drivers and aluminium profiles to complete a tidy installation.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It is a 24V DC strip, so it cannot run straight from the mains and needs a matching 24V LED driver sized to the total length installed. The driver is specified separately to suit your run.
Can the strip be cut to length, and where?
Yes, it is cut-to-length at the marked cut points, which fall every 5cm along the reel. Only cut at those marked intervals so each section keeps its full circuit and lights correctly.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This strip is rated IP00, which is dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, damp areas and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor location.
What does the COB build give over a standard SMD strip?
COB places the diodes in a continuous line, so the strip gives a smooth, dot-free band of light instead of separate points. At 1000 lumens per metre in 4000K cool white with Ra90 rendering, it suits under-cabinet, cove and display runs where an even line looks cleaner.
