Description
The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible reel, giving an even run of light with none of the spotting you see on older diode strips. It draws 10W per metre and puts out 1000 lumens per metre in a crisp 4000K cool white, with a Ra90 colour rendering that keeps surfaces and finishes looking true. In the US this format is usually sold as COB LED tape or tape light, and it does the same job here: a smooth, low-profile line of brightness that follows whatever surface it is fixed to. The reel runs to 50 metres at 8mm wide, so a single roll covers a long run before any joining is needed.
Because it is flexible and cuts to length at the marked 2.5cm interval, this strip suits coving, shelf edges, under-cabinet runs, display cases, stair stringers and the underside of kitchen units. It is rated IP00, so it is for dry indoor use only and should be kept clear of bathrooms, kitchens splash zones and any outdoor or damp location. Coverage is best judged by the run rather than a floor area: at 1000 lumens per metre it gives a bright, accent-grade line for outlining a feature, washing a shelf or lifting a worktop, and longer continuous lengths build a brighter overall effect along walls and ceilings.
The strip is built on a flexible backing that bends around corners and follows curved profiles, and it cuts cleanly only at the printed 2.5cm cut points. It runs on 12V DC, so it is not a mains-direct fitting: a matching 12V LED driver is needed and is sold separately, sized to the total wattage of the length you install. Rated life is around 30,000 hours and the strip weighs 568g across the full reel. We also stock matching drivers and connectors in the range to complete an installation.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, not mains voltage, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is sold separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you install, allowing for 10W per metre.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. It cuts cleanly at the printed cut points, which fall every 2.5cm along the reel. Only cut at those marked intervals so the circuit stays intact, then connect the cut section back to the driver.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This strip is rated IP00, which means dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, splash zones and any outdoor or damp location, and choose an IP65 coated strip for those areas instead.
How do I clean the strip?
Switch it off and let it cool, then wipe the surface gently with a dry or barely damp lint-free cloth. Avoid solvents and soaking, as this is an IP00 strip with no water protection, and take care around the cut and connection points.
