Description

The COB LED Strip is a continuous, dot-free line of diodes on a flexible 5m reel, giving an even band of light with no visible spotting along its length. It draws 10W per metre and puts out 1000 lumens per metre in a crisp 6500K daylight tone, with a high Ra 90 colour rendering that keeps surfaces and finishes looking true. The strip runs on 24V DC, so it works from a matching 24V LED driver rather than straight from the mains. Often described as LED tape or, in US terms, light strip, it cuts to length at the marked points every 5cm so a run can be tailored to the exact span it needs to cover.

Because it carries an IP65 rating, the reel is coated against moisture and suits both dry interiors and damp or sheltered outdoor positions. It works well under kitchen cabinets and worktops, along cove and ceiling recesses, around mirrors and shelving, and for outlining steps, eaves or garden structures. The continuous diode line throws a smooth wash rather than a pooled beam, so it grazes a wall or picks out an edge without hot spots, which makes it a good choice where the light source itself should stay hidden. Coverage depends on the cut length you run rather than a fixed room area, so plan the metres to the feature being lit.

The flexible reel bends around corners and along curved profiles, and is fixed with its self-adhesive backing or compatible mounting clips. The 24V DC supply needs a separately specified LED driver sized to the total wattage of the run, and the strip only parts cleanly at the printed 5cm cut marks. Rated for around 30,000 hours, it is built for long unattended use in coves and under-cabinet channels. Our wider range includes drivers and matching profiles to complete the install.

Does this strip need a driver?

Yes. It runs on 24V DC, so it is not a mains-direct fitting and needs a 24V LED driver, which is supplied separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of your run, allowing 10W for every metre of strip in use.

Can it be cut to length, and where?

Yes, it cuts to length at the marked cut points every 5cm along the reel. Only cut at those marked positions so the diode line stays intact. The full reel is 5m, which you can trim down to suit the span you are lighting.

Is it suitable for outdoor or damp areas?

Yes. The IP65 rating means it is coated against moisture, so it works in sheltered outdoor positions and damp indoor spots such as bathrooms and kitchens, as well as in dry interiors. It is a good fit for cove, eaves and step outlines.

How do I keep it clean?

Wipe the coated surface gently with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth once it is switched off and cool. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which can mark the coating. The IP65 sealing helps shrug off dust and moisture between cleans.
