The Class is a 450mm flush ceiling light with ten G4 halogen capsule bulbs set within a polished chrome circular base, surrounded by curved clear glass ribbons and faceted crystal droplets. The glass ribbons spiral outward from the base in looping forms, each tipped with a crystal sphere that catches and refracts light from the halogen capsules. Black crystal accent beads are threaded along the glass ribbons, creating contrast against the clear glass and chrome.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.6m where a pendant would hang too low, the 370mm drop from ceiling to lowest crystal keeps the fitting compact while still providing decorative presence. The ten 20W halogen capsules (included) deliver warm, bright ambient light that fills a typical 4m x 5m living room or bedroom. The flush mount sits directly against the ceiling with the chrome base concealing the electrical connection.

The curved glass ribbons and crystal droplets create layered reflections when lit, multiplying the apparent light output and adding visual depth to plain ceilings. The polished chrome base reflects ceiling colour back down, helping the fitting blend into white or light-toned ceilings while the glass and crystal elements provide the decorative detail. At 8.5kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or suitable ceiling structure, not plasterboard alone.

The halogen capsules are dimmable when paired with a trailing-edge dimmer switch, allowing the light level to be reduced for evening ambient lighting or raised for task use. The halogen technology provides instant full brightness on switching, with no warm-up period, and the 3000K colour temperature sits between warm white and neutral white.

Is this suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 370mm drop from ceiling to lowest crystal makes this a better choice than a pendant for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.6m. The flush mount sits directly against the ceiling, leaving maximum headroom below.

Are the bulbs included?

Yes. The fitting includes ten G4 20W halogen capsule bulbs. These are standard capsules that can be replaced with equivalent G4 halogens when needed. LED and CFL G4 capsules are not compatible with this fitting.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, when paired with a trailing-edge dimmer switch. The halogen capsules dim smoothly from full brightness down to around 10% output. Standard leading-edge dimmers may cause buzzing or flickering and are not recommended.

What ceiling fixing is needed for the 8.5kg weight?

The fitting must be screwed into a ceiling joist or a suitable load-bearing structure. Plasterboard alone will not support 8.5kg safely. If the existing ceiling rose position does not align with a joist, a spreader plate or batten between joists is required.
