Description

The Citronic Classic Speaker Splitter Lead is a 0.3m Y-cable with one SPK male plug splitting to two SPK female sockets, allowing a single speaker output from an amplifier to drive two separate speaker cabinets in parallel. Each output leg handles up to 6A, giving a combined 12A capacity when both outputs are used.

Designed for live PA setups, installation systems and rehearsal rigs where two cabinets need to run from one amplifier channel, the short 0.3m length keeps the split close to the amp output panel, reducing cable runs and keeping the rear of the rack or stage tidy. The parallel wiring means both speakers share the same signal, so the total impedance seen by the amplifier drops when both outputs are connected — ensure your amplifier is rated to handle the combined load.

The cable uses high-purity copper conductors with a soft-grip rubberised outer jacket and anti-tangle construction. The SPK connectors are the four-pole twist-lock style commonly found on professional PA equipment, giving a secure mechanical connection that resists accidental disconnection during transport or use. At 130g the cable adds minimal weight to a rack or flight case.

What happens to the impedance when I use both outputs?

When you connect two speakers in parallel using this splitter, the total impedance seen by the amplifier halves. For example, two 8Ω cabinets in parallel present a 4Ω load. Check your amplifier can safely drive the resulting impedance before connecting.

Can I use this to run stereo from one output?

No. This is a parallel splitter — both outputs carry the same mono signal. To run stereo you need two separate amplifier channels, one for left and one for right.

What's the maximum power this cable can handle?

At 6A per output and typical PA voltages, each leg handles approximately 500-600W into an 8Ω load. The cable itself is rated for the current; the limiting factor is usually the amplifier's output capability and the speaker impedance.

Are the SPK connectors the same as Speakon?
