Description

The Citronic Classic is a 1.5m speaker cable with latching SPK plugs at both ends, 2 x 1.5mm² cross-sectional area copper conductors and a rubberised outer jacket. The cable connects powered amplifiers or active speaker outputs to passive speaker cabinets fitted with SPK sockets, providing a compact alternative to longer runs where components are close-coupled.

Designed for desktop PA setups, rehearsal room configurations, DJ booth connections and portable speaker systems where the amplifier sits within 1.5m of the cabinet, the cable length minimises slack and reduces trip hazards. The latching SPK plugs twist-lock into matching sockets on speakers and amplifiers, preventing accidental disconnection during transport or live use. The 7mm diameter cable sits flat on floors and coils tightly for storage without kinking.

Each conductor uses 50 strands of 0.17mm pure copper wire, machine-soldered to the SPK plug terminals for consistent electrical continuity. The rubberised outer jacket provides grip when handling the cable and resists tangling when coiled. Cotton reinforcement inside the jacket adds tensile strength without adding significant weight, keeping the cable under 200g for the full 1.5m run. The black finish blends into most PA and studio environments.

Are the SPK plugs compatible with NL4 Speakon sockets?

No. SPK plugs are a different connector format to Neutrik Speakon NL4. This cable is for equipment fitted with SPK sockets — check your amplifier and speaker rear panels before ordering.

Can the cable be used outdoors?

The rubberised jacket provides some weather resistance for short-term outdoor use in dry conditions, but the cable is not rated for permanent outdoor installation or exposure to standing water. Bring the cable indoors after use.
