Description

The Citronic Animate Smart is a compact RGB laser that produces a crystal clear array of 51 colourful patterns and animations. Built into a metal housing, it is robust enough for regular transport between gigs, mobile disco setups and event spaces, yet small enough to pack away easily. The unit measures 188 x 193 x 173mm and weighs 1.8kg, so it slots into a case or rig without taking up much room.

One of the useful features here is the smartphone app, which connects to the laser over Bluetooth. This lets you create your own text or freehand content, so you can display names, dates or messages for weddings, birthdays and family occasions. Alongside Bluetooth, there are five control modes in total: Auto, sound to light, DMX and master/slave. The DMX512 side offers 16 channels, giving you room to program the laser as part of a wider lighting setup.

Connections cover IEC power in, DMX in and out on XLR (also called a 3-pin lighting connector), and a laser safety key. The laser runs at 1600mW and is rated Laser Class 3B, with a scanner speed of 20kpps at 8 degrees and a maximum scan angle of 30 degrees. Power consumption is 22W from a 100-250Vac supply, so it works across UK and international mains.
