Description

The Chawton is a 652mm polished brass picture light with a rectangular metal housing and adjustable knuckle joints that allow the beam to be angled towards artwork, mirrors or photographs mounted on the wall below. The fitting takes two E14 bulbs (sold separately) up to 40W each, providing focused illumination across frames up to approximately 900mm wide.

Designed for mounting directly above picture frames or large mirrors in hallways, living rooms, galleries and bedrooms, the Chawton directs light downwards at an adjustable angle to reduce glare on glazed frames while highlighting the artwork itself. The 186mm projection from the wall positions the light source forward of most standard frame depths, preventing shadowing on the canvas or print surface. The polished brass finish reflects light back into the room when the fitting is switched on, adding ambient warmth alongside the focused downlight.

The metal construction and polished brass finish suit traditional, classical and warm contemporary interiors where metallic accents are already present in door furniture, curtain poles or light switches. The adjustable knuckle joints can be tightened or loosened to set the preferred beam angle during installation, and re-adjusted later if the artwork is changed or repositioned. At 652mm width the Chawton works best above single large pieces rather than gallery walls of smaller frames.
