The fitting houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately) behind the glass, with the cross-bar frame dividing the light into four quadrants. Rated IP44, the fitting is protected against splashing water and solid objects over 1mm, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas.

Designed for porches, porch ceilings, covered patios, carports and entrance canopies where ceiling height is limited or a low-profile fitting is preferred. The flush mount sits tight to the ceiling surface with minimal projection, avoiding headroom issues in areas with restricted clearance. The clear ribbed glass diffuses the bulb while maintaining downward light throw, providing functional illumination for steps, doorways and seating areas after dark.

The die-cast aluminium construction provides corrosion resistance in coastal and damp environments, with the black powder-coat finish offering additional protection against UV degradation. The square 250mm frame and cross-bar detailing suit traditional, cottage and period-style properties, while the clean geometric lines also pair with contemporary exteriors in black or charcoal render. The clear glass can be paired with a warm-white filament LED bulb to soften the industrial cross-bar aesthetic, or with a daylight-temperature LED where task lighting is the priority.

What bulb does it take?

The Chapel takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose a 6-10W warm-white LED filament bulb or a 10-15W daylight LED depending on whether ambient or task lighting is needed.

Can it be used in an uncovered location?

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction, but not direct rain or water jets. The fitting is designed for covered outdoor areas such as porch ceilings, canopies and carports, not for fully exposed wall or ceiling positions subject to heavy rain.

How far does it project from the ceiling?

As a flush-mount fitting, the Chapel sits tight to the ceiling surface with minimal projection. The exact depth depends on the bulb chosen, but with a standard LED bulb the total projection is typically 80-100mm from ceiling to bottom of glass.

Is the black finish resistant to coastal corrosion?

Yes. The die-cast aluminium construction with powder-coat finish provides good corrosion resistance in coastal environments. Regular rinsing with fresh water every few months will extend the finish life in high-salt areas.
