Cesto 4 Light Crystal Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Cesto is a 440mm semi-flush crystal ceiling light built on a polished chrome frame supporting hundreds of faceted crystal spheres arranged in a tightly packed basket formation. Four G9 bulbs sit inside the upper frame (sold separately), casting light through the crystal layer to produce a field of refracted light across the ceiling and floor below. The semi-flush mounting sits 270mm below the ceiling rose, making it suitable for standard 2.4m ceiling heights where a full chandelier drop would be too intrusive.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways, dining rooms and living rooms where decorative lighting is needed without dominating vertical space, the Cesto works as primary lighting in rooms up to 12-15 square metres or as accent lighting in larger open-plan areas. The crystal spheres are hand-strung on chrome wires that arch from the central column to six outer terminal points, each topped with a larger crystal finial. The density of the crystal creates a bowl-like silhouette when viewed from below, with gaps between spheres allowing light to escape upwards onto the ceiling.

The polished chrome finish reflects both daylight and artificial light, amplifying the sparkle effect from the crystals. At 10.2kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or suitable anchor and must be wired to a standard UK ceiling rose by a qualified electrician. The fixture is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 LED or halogen bulbs and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer — check bulb and dimmer compatibility before installation to avoid flicker.

What bulbs does the Cesto take?

The fitting takes four G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 3-5W G9 LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedroom and living room use.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 270mm projection from ceiling to base works in rooms with 2.4m ceiling heights, leaving approximately 2.13m clearance below the fitting. This is sufficient headroom for most residential rooms.

Is the Cesto dimmable?

The fixture itself is dimmable when fitted with dimmable G9 bulbs and paired with a compatible dimmer switch. LED G9 bulbs require a trailing-edge dimmer to avoid flicker — check bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

How is the crystal maintained?

Switch off at the mains before cleaning. Wipe crystal spheres gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water can be used on individual spheres, but avoid soaking the chrome frame or allowing water to reach the lampholder sockets.
