Description

The Cellar is a 4 light semi-flush ceiling fitting built around four opal glass spheres arranged on black metal arms extending from a central stem. Each globe houses a G4 bulb (sold separately), and the opal glass diffuses the light into a soft wash. The fitting mounts close to the ceiling via a 160mm-diameter black metal base plate, with the arms and globes projecting approximately 375mm down from the ceiling.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m where a full pendant would hang too low, the Cellar suits modern living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms and hallways. The semi-flush format keeps the fitting out of head-height zones while the four light sources provide enough ambient output to light a 12-16m² room when paired with warm-white G4 LEDs. The black metalwork reads as a defined graphic element against white ceilings, and the asymmetric arrangement of the four globes gives a sculptural quality when viewed from below.

The frame is constructed from steel tube finished in matt black powder coat, and the four opal glass globes measure approximately 120mm diameter each. The glass is thick-walled and weighted, giving the fitting a solid 0.93kg mass despite its compact 355mm width and 320mm depth footprint. The G4 lamp holders accept standard G4 capsule bulbs, though four 3-5W LED capsules keep heat output low and bulb life long.

The G4 sockets being sold separately lets you match wattage and tone to the room from the outset.

What bulbs does the Cellar take?

The fitting uses four G4 capsule bulbs, sold separately. We suggest fitting four warm-white LED G4s between 3-5W each (total 12-20W) to keep heat and running costs low while providing sufficient ambient light for a living room or bedroom.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting projects 375mm down from the ceiling. In a room with a 2.4m ceiling height, the lowest point of the fitting will sit at approximately 2.03m, comfortably above head height. The semi-flush format is designed for rooms where a full pendant would hang too low.

Is the Cellar dimmable?

The fitting itself is not dimmable. The lamp holders are standard G4 sockets wired to mains via an internal transformer, and there is no dimming compatibility for this model.

How is the black frame finished?

The metal tube frame is finished in matt black powder coat. This gives a low-sheen finish that minimises reflections under daylight and contrasts cleanly against white ceilings and opal glass.
