Description
The Cedric is a 305mm flush ceiling light with a matt black metal drum and an etched opal glass diffuser at the base. The fitting sits 122mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low. It houses two E27 bulbs (sold separately) inside the drum, with light cast downward through the opal glass for diffused ambient illumination.
Designed for hallways, utility rooms, bathrooms (check IP rating in specification), compact bedrooms and modern lofts with restricted ceiling height, the Cedric provides functional overhead lighting without requiring pendant clearance. The matt black finish contrasts against white or pale ceilings, giving the fitting a defined edge in minimalist, industrial and monochrome interiors. The opal glass diffuser prevents glare from direct bulb exposure and softens the light spread across the room.
The metal drum construction gives the fitting durability in high-traffic or moisture-prone areas where plastic ceiling lights degrade faster. The 305mm diameter suits rooms up to approximately 3m x 3m as a single central fitting, or multiple Cedrics can be installed in sequence along a corridor or open-plan zone to provide even coverage. The flush mounting plate fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose with no visible chain or cable drop.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Cedric take?
The fitting takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient room lighting.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
Check the IP rating in the specification table or product datasheet. If no IP rating is listed, the fitting is rated for dry locations only and should not be installed in bathrooms or other moisture-prone areas.
What ceiling height does it need?
The Cedric sits 122mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for low-ceiling rooms below 2.4m where pendant lights would hang too low. It works well in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.1m and 2.8m.
How is the fitting installed?
The flush mounting plate fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose. The metal drum and glass diffuser attach to the mounting plate after wiring. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
