Description
The Caval cushion pairs two textures in a single abstract jacquard: raised, ropey boucle worked against smoother chenille, so the pattern reads as much by touch as by sight. Our photographs show a bold monochrome design in black on a natural off-white ground, with irregular organic shapes that break up the square rather than sit neatly within it. It is a 50 x 50cm square, a generous size that holds its shape on a sofa or bed and gives the pattern room to be seen. The face is polyester throughout, and the reverse is a plain velvet in solid black.
This is a cushion for a room that can take a graphic note. The high-contrast black and off-white front works hard against a plain sofa, a linen headboard or a mid-tone armchair, and the abstract, art-led shapes sit comfortably alongside modern and mid-century furniture. Because the reverse is plain black velvet, you get two looks from one cushion: turn the patterned face out where you want the design to lead, or the velvet out for a quieter, all-black moment. Grouped with plainer cushions in black, cream or grey, it does the job of pulling a scheme together without competing with everything else on the seat.
The face combines boucle and chenille in a contrast jacquard, which is what gives the surface its two-height texture, and the whole cushion is finished with a piped edge that defines the seam and helps it keep a crisp square outline. A zip closure runs along one side, so the cover comes off for cleaning and goes back on without fuss. The velvet reverse adds a soft, brushed hand on the back. The Caval is offered in more than one colourway, so if this mono is too strong for your room there are other tones in the same range.

Frequently Asked
What is the front of the cushion made from?
The face is 100% polyester, worked as a contrast jacquard that combines raised boucle with smoother chenille, giving the pattern its two distinct textures.
What does the back of the cushion look like?
The reverse is a plain velvet in solid black, so you can turn the cushion to show the patterned face or the quieter velvet side depending on your mood.
How big is this cushion?
It measures 50 x 50cm, a generous square that sits well on a two or three seater sofa and holds its shape when propped against a headboard.
Does the cover come off?
Yes, there is a zip closure along one edge, so the cover can be removed for cleaning and put back on easily.
What colours does the pattern use?
This mono version is a high-contrast black abstract design on a natural off-white ground, with a solid black velvet reverse and piped edge.
