Description

The Knightsbridge CAT6 RJ45 outlet module is a 25x50mm grey networking socket designed for euro-module grid faceplates. The module houses a single RJ45 socket with IDC (insulation displacement connector) terminals on the rear for direct termination of UTP CAT6 cable, supporting Gigabit Ethernet connections up to 1000BASE-T.

Designed for residential and commercial network installations, the module clips into standard euro-module grid frames, allowing multiple modules (data, telephone, HDMI, USB) to be combined in a single faceplate. The 25mm minimum back box depth fits standard UK electrical boxes, making it straightforward to add network points alongside power sockets during new builds or retrofits.

The grey ABS construction carries an IP20 rating for indoor dry location use. The IDC terminals accept solid core CAT6 cable without requiring separate crimp connectors or punch-down tools beyond a standard 110-type blade, and the terminals are colour-coded to T568A and T568B wiring standards. The 18mm recessed depth keeps the module flush with the grid frame once installed, with the RJ45 port recessed behind the faceplate aperture.

What cable type does this module accept?

The module accepts solid core UTP (unshielded twisted pair) CAT6 cable via IDC terminals. Stranded cable is not recommended for IDC termination. The terminals are colour-coded for both T568A and T568B wiring standards.

Can this be used in a standard UK back box?

Yes, provided the back box has a minimum 25mm depth. The module is designed for euro-module grid systems, so you need a compatible grid faceplate and frame to mount it in a standard UK electrical box.

What network speed does CAT6 support?

CAT6 supports Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) at full 1Gbps speed over cable runs up to 100 metres. It also supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GBASE-T) over shorter runs of up to 55 metres.

Can multiple modules be combined in one faceplate?

Yes. The 25x50mm form factor is a standard euro-module size, so this RJ45 module can be combined with other Knightsbridge grid modules (HDMI, USB, blank plates, telephone) in a multi-gang grid frame to create custom faceplates.
