Description

The Capuccina is an 8-light LED semi-flush ceiling light built around eight folded metal shades arranged across two horizontal bars in a 1000mm-wide asymmetric composition. Each shade is formed from a single piece of steel, bent and folded to create an irregular cone-like profile with angled surfaces and layered contours. The shades house integrated 3000K LEDs that deliver a combined 4000 lumens from 61.5W total power draw.

Designed for large living rooms, open-plan kitchen-dining areas and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above, the Capuccina sits 595mm below the ceiling rose when fitted, making it a semi-flush rather than a full flush. The two horizontal bars extend from a central stem in different directions, creating a three-dimensional asymmetric form that looks different from every angle in the room. The matt black finish absorbs ambient light during the day and creates strong contrast against white or light-coloured ceilings.

The folded construction of each shade means the light emits through the open base of the cone at a 60° beam angle, directing illumination downward and outward rather than up onto the ceiling. This makes the Capuccina function as task and ambient light combined, suitable for dining tables, seating areas and kitchen islands where directed downlight is needed alongside general room illumination. The 3000K warm white colour temperature sits between neutral and warm, pairing comfortably with both cool greys and warmer wood tones.

Each shade is positioned at a different angle on the horizontal bars, so the eight beams of light do not overlap uniformly — this creates zones of brighter and softer light across the room rather than a single even wash. The fixture weighs 6.3kg once assembled and requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or reinforced plasterboard ceiling rose rated for the weight. The integrated LEDs are non-replaceable but carry a 3-year warranty from Mantra Spain.

Is the Capuccina dimmable?

No. The integrated LEDs are rated at fixed output and are not compatible with dimmer switches. The 61.5W output delivers 4000 lumens at full brightness only.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting drops 595mm below the ceiling rose, so ceiling heights of 2.5m or above are recommended to maintain adequate head clearance. In rooms with 2.4m ceilings the lowest shades may sit below typical standing eye level.

Can the shades be repositioned?

The shades are fixed to the horizontal bars at set angles during manufacture. The bars themselves are fixed to the central stem in a specific asymmetric arrangement and are not adjustable once the fitting is assembled.

What size room does it suit?

The 1000mm span and 4000 lumen output suit rooms of approximately 20-30m². Larger open-plan spaces may benefit from pairing the Capuccina with additional ambient lighting or a second fixture at the opposite end of the room.
