The Capitol Hill is a 6-light chandelier built around a central column with six curved arms radiating outward in a symmetrical arrangement, each terminating in an upward-facing candle sleeve. The natural brass finish shows a warm, satin-like tone that sits between polished and brushed brass, with a slight sheen that catches light without creating harsh reflections. Each arm houses a single E14 candle bulb (sold separately), giving a combined maximum load of 240W across the six sockets.

Designed for dining rooms, hallways and entrance foyers with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the chandelier's 730mm diameter suits rooms from 12-18m². The drop is adjustable between 658mm minimum and 1922mm maximum via the 1219mm chain, allowing the fitting to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or set higher in a double-height entrance hall. The natural brass canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the chain run conceals the cable.

The curved arms form a continuous looping structure, giving the chandelier an open rather than dense appearance when viewed from below. This allows the light from the bulbs to project both upward toward the ceiling and outward into the room without the frame blocking significant light paths. The Capitol Hill takes six E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs, each rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers pair this chandelier with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to achieve a traditional candelabra look with lower running costs.

What room size does the 730mm diameter suit?

A 730mm chandelier works well in rooms between 12-18m². For dining tables, the chandelier should be approximately two-thirds the width of the table — so this fitting suits tables 1.1-1.4m wide. In hallways or foyers the 730mm diameter provides presence without overwhelming a typical 2.5-3m width.

Can the drop be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by selecting how much of the 1219mm chain to use. Once installed, changing the drop requires accessing the ceiling rose and re-threading the chain, which typically means isolating the circuit and partially reinstalling the fitting.

Is the natural brass finish lacquered?

Kichler's natural brass finish is typically lacquered to prevent tarnishing and maintain the warm satin tone. This means the brass will not patina or darken over time unless the lacquer is deliberately removed.
