Description

The Calonge is a set of three round recessed LED downlights in white, each with a plastic body, a frosted outer ring and a white inner bezel around an integrated LED. Every downlight has a diameter of 9.8cm and needs only 3.2cm of depth behind the ceiling, so it suits rooms where the space overhead is shallow. The frosted ring glows in colour, the white light can be set anywhere from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K, and the light output is listed as 1,560lm. The set carries two ratings, IP20 and IP44, and we would keep it to dry rooms indoors.

As a set of three, the Calonge spreads light along a living room, bedroom, hallway or kitchen ceiling, and the coloured rings add a soft glow for film nights, dinner with friends or a party. It suits anyone who wants one ceiling to do two jobs: crisp white light for cooking, reading and tidying, then a gentle wash of colour later in the evening. Each downlight is held in place by two orange spring clips and needs a 7.5cm cut-out in the ceiling. They run on 220-240V mains and are switched at the wall, so a qualified electrician should install them. The LED and driver can be replaced by a specialist, and the installation instructions are available as a download.
