Description
The Buckley is a 429mm-high outdoor wall lantern with a matt black composite frame, clear bevelled glass panels on three sides, and a brushed brass arch detail at the top. The lantern houses a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) behind the glass, and carries an IP44 rating for protection against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for porches, entrance walls, and covered outdoor positions.
Designed for larger porches, double-door entryways and garage walls where a taller lantern gives better scale, the Buckley projects 196mm from the wall and spans 162mm wide. The bevelled glass panels add visual depth and refract light into multiple directions when the bulb is lit, while the brass arch contrasts with the black frame to give the fitting a more layered appearance than plain black lanterns. The composite construction resists rust and corrosion in coastal and humid climates better than steel or aluminium alternatives.
The matt black finish absorbs reflections and pairs well with darker exterior palettes, grey render, brick and timber cladding. The clear glass allows full visibility of the bulb filament, so pairing the lantern with a vintage-style LED filament bulb or an amber-tinted bulb gives a warmer, more traditional appearance. The 40W maximum load accommodates most standard E27 LED bulbs between 4-10W, which typically provide enough light for doorway illumination without overwhelming smaller entrance areas.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 mean and where can this be installed?
IP44 means the lantern is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashing from any direction. It can be installed in covered outdoor positions such as porches, under eaves, and covered entrance walls, but not in positions exposed to direct rain or submersion.
What bulb should I use?
The lantern takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Most users pair it with a 4-8W warm-white LED filament bulb at 2700K for a traditional appearance, or an amber-tinted LED for a warmer glow. Bulbs are sold separately.
Is the composite frame durable in coastal areas?
Yes. The matt black composite material resists rust and corrosion better than steel or aluminium, making it well-suited to coastal and high-humidity environments where salt air and moisture accelerate metal degradation.
Can the brass arch be replaced or removed?
No. The brass arch is a fixed part of the lantern's design and cannot be removed without damaging the fitting. If a plain black lantern is preferred, other models in the Quoizel range omit the brass detail.
